Jlab Export is a leading Pitot Tube Setup Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Pitot Tube Setup (code EL-DSO-10351) is a fluid mechanics bench for finding the coefficient of a Pitot tube and the point velocity at the centre of a pipe at different flow rates. The pipe line, tanks and pump are mounted together on one angle iron frame. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

How Does It Compare with Other JLab Pitot Tube Set-ups?
| Set-up | Pitot tube and test section | Other details |
|---|---|---|
| This set-up (EL-DSO-10351) | Acrylic Pitot tube with pointer gauge, for 1-inch pipe; GI pipe line | 50 cm U-tube differential manometer; measuring tank with piezometer; sump tank |
| Pitot Static Tube Set-Up | Copper/SS Pitot tube with Vernier scale; clear acrylic test section for 1-inch pipe | Measuring tank 40 litres; sump 70 litres |
| Pitot Tube Apparatus | Pitot tube for point velocity | Differential manometer 300 mm in height; powder-coated mild steel measuring and supply tanks |
All three find point velocity with a Pitot tube. The Pitot Static Tube Set-Up’s experiments also include plotting the velocity profile across the pipe; this set-up is aimed at the Pitot tube coefficient and the centre-line velocity at different flow rates.
What Is the Pitot Tube Setup Used For?
A Pitot tube faces upstream, so water is brought to rest at its tip and the pressure there exceeds the static pressure of the stream by the velocity head. The velocity head h, obtained from the differential manometer reading, gives the ideal point velocity √(2gh). Students repeat the reading at several flow rates, find the discharge from the measuring tank and stopwatch, and compare the centre-line velocity with the mean velocity in the pipe — a core practical in the fluid mechanics labs of civil and mechanical engineering courses.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Number of set-ups for the lab.
- Electrical supply — the 0.5 HP pump needs single-phase 220 V AC, 50 Hz.
- Other flow benches, such as the venturimeter or pipe friction set-ups linked below, which are separate items.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Pitot tube coefficient?
It is the ratio of the actual velocity to the ideal value √(2gh) worked out from the measured head. Finding it is one of the two experiments set for this bench.
How is the flow rate measured?
Water is collected in the measuring tank, its level is read on the piezometer tube, and the time is taken with the electronic stopwatch.
How many valves are fitted?
Five gunmetal valves: two for the inlet and outlet, one for the bypass, one for water control and one for the drain.
What should an export enquiry include?
The number of set-ups, the destination country and port or city, the delivery terms you prefer (for example FOB or CIF), packing or labelling needs and any tender reference.
Who manufactures the Pitot Tube Setup?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, trading as JLab, builds it at its own works in Ambala, Haryana, India, and quotes for it as the manufacturer.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a fluid mechanics and engineering lab equipment manufacturer in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The set-up is fabricated at JLab’s own works and not bought from a trader, so engineering colleges, polytechnics, dealers and importers buy it from the factory, each unit is visually inspected before dispatch, and repeat orders come from the same works. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Mauritius in East Africa, Saudi Arabia in the Middle East, Bangladesh in South Asia, Libya in North Africa and Indonesia in Southeast Asia. Tender information is on the JLab lab tenders page.
