How Does It Compare with Other JLab Analog Trainers?

TrainerFunction generatorDC supplies
This Analog Lab (EL-BT-1482)Sine, square and triangular; 1 Hz to 110 kHz in 5 steps; 50 mV to 10 Vpp±5 V at 1 A; +12 V / 0 to +20 V and −12 V / 0 to −20 V, at 500 mA
Analog Lab Trainer with Bread BoardSine, square and triangular; 1 Hz to 100 kHz; adjustable amplitude+5 V at 1 A; +12 V at 500 mA; 0 to +15 V at 500 mA

Choose the Analog Lab when circuits such as dual-supply op-amp stages need negative as well as positive rails; the DC outputs of the Analog Lab Trainer with Bread Board are all positive.

What Is the Analog Lab Used For?

It supports analog electronics practicals from first circuits to more advanced work in electronics and electrical engineering diploma and degree courses and ITI electronics trades. The regulated supplies power the circuit under test, the function generator drives it with sine, square or triangular test signals, and the meter reads the resulting DC voltages and currents, so a circuit can be powered, driven and measured from the same unit.

What to Specify When Ordering

  • Quantity — the number of Analog Lab units for the lab.
  • Mains supply — the unit works on 230 V ±10%, 50 Hz; check this against the supply where it will be used.
  • Other trainers — the Analog Lab Trainer with Bread Board and the boards linked below are separate items that can go on the same enquiry.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can the AC supply be used?
Its 5-0-5 V and 10-0-10 V windings, rated 100 mA, can be used as 5 V, 10 V, 15 V or 20 V, or with the centre tap. A centre-tapped supply is what a two-diode full-wave rectifier needs.

What does the digital meter measure?
DC voltage up to 20 V and DC current up to 200 mA, on a 3½-digit display — three full digits plus a half digit that can show only a 1 or nothing.

What is the continuity tester for?
It sounds a beeper when there is an unbroken path between its probes, which makes it quick to check leads, connections and fuses for breaks.

What are the potentiometers and switches for?
The three potentiometers (1 k, 100 k and 100 k) are brought out on terminals for use as variable resistors or voltage dividers in a circuit, and the two SPDT switches let students switch a signal or supply between two points.

What information does an export quotation need?
The number of units, the destination country and the port or city, the delivery terms you want (for example FOB or CIF), any packing or labelling requirements and the tender reference if there is one.

Who makes the Analog Lab?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, trading as JLab, manufactures it in Ambala, Haryana, India.

OEM Manufacturer

JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an Indian maker of analog and digital electronics trainers and other laboratory equipment for education, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The Analog Lab is made in JLab’s own works, not bought in from a trader, so colleges, ITIs, dealers and importers order it directly from the manufacturer and get repeat orders and spares from the same place. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Paraguay in South America, Samoa in Oceania, Trinidad and Tobago in Central America and the Caribbean, Uzbekistan in Central Asia and Bulgaria in Eastern Europe. Tender details are on the JLab lab tenders page.
