Bernoulli Theorem Apparatus (code EL-HLE-8973) is a water-circuit rig for verifying Bernoulli’s theorem along a 300 mm differential venturi made from acrylic square bar, with two acrylic constant head tanks on a stand. A single-phase monoblock pump lifts water from a 100 litre PVC storage tank, and a 25 litre measuring tank with a digital stop watch gives the flow rate. This venturi-section rig is manufactured by JLab at Ambala, India.

Verifying the Energy Equation
For steady flow of an ideal liquid along a streamline, the total head p/ρg + v²/2g + z stays constant. In the venturi the cross-section narrows and widens again; by continuity Q = a v, so the velocity rises where the area falls and the pressure head drops by the amount the velocity head gains. With Q from the measuring tank, v at each section follows from Q/a, and plotting pressure head, velocity head and their sum against distance shows the total head line staying nearly level, dipping slightly where friction acts in the widening part.
