Binary to Decimal Encoder Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : EL-DET-1517
Jlab Export is a leading Binary to Decimal Encoder Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Binary to Decimal Encoder (code EL-DET-1517) is a self-contained digital electronics training board for studying how 4-bit binary codes and decimal digits are converted into one another. A selector switch sets the digits 0 to 9 with a corresponding binary code indicator, and an unknown 4-bit binary code can be fed in so that its decimal value is read on a seven-segment display. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

How Does It Compare with the JLab BCD to Seven Segment Display?
| Board | Inputs | Decoder | Display and indicators | Built-in supply |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Binary to Decimal Encoder (EL-DET-1517) | Digit selector switch (0 to 9) with binary code indicator; switch for logic selection; input for an unknown 4-bit code | BCD-to-7-segment decoder/driver | Seven-segment display (0 to 9); DPDT lamp-test switch; LEDs for A, B, C, D | +5 V DC at 50 mA |
| BCD to Seven Segment Display | Four SPDT switches for A, B, C and D | BCD to seven segment decoder driver IC | Common-anode LED seven-segment display | +5 V at 100 mA |
This board pairs a decimal digit selector with an input for unknown binary codes, while the BCD to Seven Segment Display board sets its four inputs A to D directly on SPDT switches; both drive a seven-segment display through a BCD decoder/driver.
What Is the Binary to Decimal Encoder Used For?
Digital circuits work in binary while people read decimal, and binary coded decimal (BCD) bridges the two: each decimal digit from 0 to 9 is written as its own 4-bit code, with bit weights of 8, 4, 2 and 1. A seven-segment display shows a digit by lighting a particular group of its segments, and the decoder/driver is the circuit that turns the 4-bit code into those segment signals. On this board students can go from a chosen decimal digit to its binary code, or from a binary code to the decimal digit, and so practise the code conversion that sits behind digital counter, clock and meter displays.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Board — this digit-selector board, or the BCD to Seven Segment Display board with four SPDT input switches.
- Quantity — the number of boards for your digital electronics lab.
- Companion boards — the decoder, counter and IC trainers listed below are separate boards that can be quoted on the same enquiry.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this board an encoder or a decoder?
It covers both directions. The selector switch takes a decimal digit and shows its binary code on the indicator, which is the encoding step, and the BCD-to-7-segment decoder/driver turns a 4-bit code that is fed in back into a decimal digit on the display.
What is the lamp test switch for?
The DPDT lamp-test switch lights the segments of the seven-segment display for a check, so a faulty segment can be spotted before readings are taken and is not mistaken for a wrong code.
Why does the display only show 0 to 9?
BCD uses only ten of the sixteen possible 4-bit codes, one for each decimal digit. The remaining six codes are not valid decimal digits, which is one of the points students learn when they compare binary and BCD.
What power supply does it need?
The board runs from 230 V ±10% at 50 Hz AC mains and has a built-in, IC-regulated +5 V DC supply for its circuits.
What information is needed for an export quotation?
Send the quantity, the destination country and port or city, your preferred delivery terms (for example FOB or CIF), any packing or labelling requirements, and the tender reference if the order is for a tender.
Who manufactures the Binary to Decimal Encoder?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, trading as JLab, builds it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India, and quotes for it directly as the manufacturer.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of electronics training boards and laboratory equipment in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The encoder board is made at JLab’s own works and not bought from a trader, which means colleges, training institutes, dealers and importers order it straight from the factory, every board is visually inspected before dispatch, and repeat orders and spare parts are handled by the people who build it. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Algeria in North Africa, Ghana in West Africa, Mozambique in East Africa, Germany in Western Europe and Myanmar in Southeast Asia. Tender buyers will find details on the JLab lab tenders page.
