How Does It Compare with Other JLab Potentiometric Meters?
| Model | Range as listed | Other listed details |
|---|---|---|
| This potentiometer (EL-DMI-1043) | 0–200 mV | Electrode and standard solution included |
| Digital pH and mV Meter | pH 0 to 14; 0 to ±199.9 mV | Temperature compensation; complete with electrode; same 11 x 7 x 4.5 in size |
| Digital Potentiometer (pH Meter range) | 0 to ±199.9 mV and 0 to ±1999 mV | 3½-digit LED display; reference, platinum, silver and glass electrodes |
Choose this model when 0–200 mV covers your experiments; the other two add pH readings or a wider mV span.
What Is the Digital Potentiometer Used For?
Potentiometry measures the potential difference between an indicator electrode and a reference while almost no current flows, so the measurement does not change the solution. In B.Sc. and M.Sc. chemistry practicals this kind of meter is used for potentiometric titrations: the titrant is added in small portions, the mV reading is noted after each addition, and the end point is taken from the steepest change on the graph of potential against volume. Rinse the electrode with distilled water between solutions.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Electrode — describe the titrations you plan so the supplied electrode can be confirmed for them.
- Range — check that the potential change you expect stays within 0–200 mV.
- Quantity — minimum 10 units.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which electrode comes with this potentiometer?
The listing states an electrode and a standard solution but does not name the electrode type, so ask JLab to confirm it for your titrations before ordering.
Who manufactures this potentiometer?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, trading as JLab, builds it at its Ambala works in Haryana, India, and quotes for it directly.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a maker of digital measuring instruments and science lab equipment in India, incorporated in 2017 and located on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. It is built at JLab’s own works, not sourced from a trader, so colleges, dealers and importers buy from the maker. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Chad in Central Africa, the UAE in the Middle East, the Dominican Republic in Central America and the Caribbean, Armenia in Eastern Europe and Australia in Oceania.
