External Shunts with 50 mV or 75 mV Drop Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : EL-SI-1230
Jlab Export is a leading External Shunts with 50 mV or 75 mV Drop Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
External Shunts with 50 mV or 75 mV Drop (code EL-SI-1230) are current shunts for measuring heavy currents with a millivolt meter or a shunt-type ammeter. Each shunt gives a 50 mV or 75 mV drop at its rated current and is made in a rating from 1 A to 50 A, or at 75, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 500, 1000, 1500 or 2000 A. They are made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is an External Shunt Used For?
A shunt is a low-resistance resistor connected in series with the load. The current through it produces a small voltage across it, proportional to the current, and a meter connected across the shunt reads that voltage as current. A shunt rated 100 A with a 75 mV drop develops 75 mV when 100 A flows, so it is paired with a meter scaled for the same rating and drop. Because the shunt is external, the heavy current cables connect to the shunt itself and only light meter leads run to the panel. Shunts are used this way on battery chargers, DC power supplies and plating setups, and in electrical machine labs at colleges, polytechnics and ITIs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I choose a 50 mV or a 75 mV shunt?
Match the meter. Use the drop your ammeter or millivolt meter is scaled for; a meter made for a 75 mV shunt will read wrongly on a 50 mV shunt of the same current rating.
Is a meter included?
No, this listing covers the shunt; JLab’s digital panel meters and ammeters are linked below as separate items.
Who manufactures these shunts?
JLab, the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, makes them at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of electrical measuring accessories and laboratory instruments in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The shunts are made in JLab’s own works instead of being bought from a trader, so institutes, panel builders, dealers and importers order them factory-direct, and repeat orders come from the manufacturer. JLab exports worldwide and ships to every region — for example Costa Rica in Central America and the Caribbean, Liberia in West Africa, Japan in East Asia, Croatia in Southern Europe and Paraguay in South America. Tender information is on the JLab lab tenders page.
Meters to Use with These Shunts
- Digital Panel Meters — 3.5-digit LED meters with a 199.9 mV DC range that can read a shunt’s drop.
- Ammeters — switchboard-type ammeters in milliamp and amp ranges.
- DC Ammeters and Voltmeters — moving-coil meters in round and rectangular flush cases.
See the switchboard panel ammeters and voltmeters range or the full Scientific Instrument range.
