Choose this board when you want the voltage doubler, five named filter types and load regulation studied on one panel, with readings on digital meters. The Half Wave, Full Wave and Rectifier Apparatus measures efficiency and ripple factor with toggle-switched loads, and the Half Wave, Full Wave and Bridge Rectifier Apparatus works from an 8-0-8 V supply with moving-coil meters on an aluminium panel.
What Is the Rectifier and Filter Board Used For?
Rectifier and filter circuits turn AC mains into the DC that electronic equipment runs on, and this board lets students compare the main arrangements on one panel. A half-wave rectifier passes only one half of each cycle, while the centre-tap and bridge circuits use both halves; a voltage doubler uses diodes and capacitors to give a DC output close to twice the peak AC input. Adding a capacitor, a choke or an L or π section then smooths the pulsating output, and measuring the ripple and the DC voltage at different load currents shows how well each combination performs. These are standard experiments in electronic devices, power supplies and applied electronics practicals at diploma, BSc and engineering level.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is ripple, and how is it measured on this board?
Ripple is the AC component left in the output of a rectifier after filtering. It is read with an AC millivoltmeter across the load, while the built-in digital meters give the DC output voltage and current, so the ripple factor — RMS ripple voltage divided by DC output voltage — can be worked out for each circuit.
Why does a full-wave rectifier give less ripple than a half-wave rectifier?
Because it conducts on both halves of the AC cycle, its ripple is at twice the mains frequency and the filter capacitor has only half as long to discharge between peaks. The output is therefore smoother for the same capacitor and load.
How do the five filter types differ?
A capacitor filter charges to the peak voltage and supplies the load between peaks, and doubling its value reduces the ripple further. An inductor filter opposes changes in current and is most effective at heavier loads. The L and π sections combine the choke with capacitors for greater smoothing.
What does load regulation show?
How much the DC output voltage falls as the load current rises. Plotting it for each rectifier and filter with different resistive loads shows which combination holds its output voltage most steadily.
What information is needed for an export quotation?
The number of boards, the destination country and port or city, delivery terms such as FOB or CIF, any packing or labelling instructions, and the tender reference when buying against a tender.
Who manufactures the Junction Diode Rectifier and Filter board?
JLab — Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd — builds it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an electronics trainer and laboratory equipment manufacturer in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The rectifier board is made at JLab’s own works, not bought from a trader, so polytechnics, colleges, dealers and importers order it factory-direct, every board is visually inspected before dispatch, and repeat orders and spares are handled by the manufacturer. The company holds MSME Udyam registration UDYAM-HR-01-0003849 as a manufacturing enterprise and exports under Importer-Exporter Code 3317504552. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Poland in Eastern Europe, Lithuania in Northern Europe, Turkey in the Middle East, Mauritius in East Africa and Angola in Central Africa. Tender details are on the JLab lab tenders page.
