Training Board for Diode and Zener Diode

Product Code : EL-AET-1457
Jlab Export is a leading Training Board for Diode and Zener Diode Manufacturer, and suppliers in India

Training Board for Diode and Zener Diode (code EL-AET-1457) is an analog electronics trainer for plotting the forward and reverse bias characteristics of a germanium semiconductor diode and the forward and reverse (breakdown) characteristics of a Zener diode. Both diodes are mounted behind the panel, with a 0–10 V variable regulated DC supply and 3½-digit digital voltmeter and current meter built in. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

Choose this board for a practical that sets a germanium diode beside a Zener diode and reads both on digital meters from one 0–10 V variable supply. The Semiconductor Diode board pairs germanium and silicon diodes, and its experiments include the static and dynamic resistance of a forward-biased junction; the two characteristics apparatus are bench kits for a PN junction and Zener diode pair or for Zener diodes alone.

What Is the Diode and Zener Diode Training Board Used For?

Plotting current against voltage shows how a junction diode conducts readily in forward bias once a small threshold is passed and passes only a tiny leakage current in reverse bias, while a Zener diode in reverse bias breaks down at a sharply defined voltage and then holds that voltage nearly constant. A germanium diode starts conducting at a lower forward voltage than a silicon diode and shows a larger reverse leakage. The p-n junction and Zener diode characteristic curves are class 12 physics practicals and are also part of electronics courses in polytechnics, ITIs and colleges.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the supply have an integral current-limiting resistor?
Once a diode conducts in forward bias, or a Zener diode breaks down in reverse bias, its current rises steeply for a very small change in voltage. The series resistor limits that current, protecting the diodes while readings are taken.

Why does the voltmeter have 2 V and 20 V ranges?
The 2 V range resolves the small forward voltages of the diodes, where the curve bends sharply, and the 20 V range covers the larger reverse voltages up to the Zener breakdown.

What is the Zener breakdown characteristic used for in practice?
Because a Zener diode holds a nearly constant voltage across it in breakdown, it is the basic element of simple voltage regulators and voltage references, and the reverse characteristic shows students that behaviour directly.

What information is needed for an export quotation?
The number of boards, the destination country and port or city, delivery terms such as FOB or CIF, and any packing, labelling or tender requirements.

Who manufactures the Training Board for Diode and Zener Diode?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) makes it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.

OEM Manufacturer

JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an electronics and physics lab equipment manufacturer in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The board is made at JLab’s own works rather than bought in from a trader, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers buy it factory-direct, each board is visually inspected before dispatch, and repeat orders go back to the same manufacturer. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — Cameroon in Central Africa, Botswana in Southern Africa, Zambia in East Africa, Bulgaria in Eastern Europe and Portugal in Southern Europe are examples. Tender details are on the JLab lab tenders page.
