Jlab Export is a leading Semiconductor Diode Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Semiconductor Diode (code EL-AET-1464) is an analog electronics trainer for plotting the forward and reverse bias characteristics of germanium (Ge) and silicon (Si) semiconductor diodes and finding the static and dynamic resistance of a forward-biased p-n junction. Both diodes, a 0–10 V regulated DC supply and 3½-digit digital meters are on the board. The trainer is manufactured by JLab (Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd) in Ambala, India.

How Does It Compare with Other JLab Diode Trainers?
| Model | Diodes studied | Supply | Meters |
|---|---|---|---|
| This trainer (EL-AET-1464) | Germanium and silicon diodes; static and dynamic resistance | 0–10 V DC at 50 mA, coarse and fine controls | 3½-digit digital voltmeter and current meter |
| Training Board for Diode and Zener Diode | A germanium diode and a Zener diode, including Zener breakdown | 0–10 V DC at 10 mA, regulated | 3½-digit digital voltmeter and current meter |
| Semiconductor Diode and PN Junction Diode Apparatus | PN junction diodes, forward and reverse characteristics | Two DC supplies: 0–50 V at 2 mA and 0–1 V at 200 mA | Two meters, for voltage and current |
Choose this trainer when students should compare a germanium and a silicon diode on the same board and work out junction resistance from their curves. The Training Board for Diode and Zener Diode pairs a germanium diode with a Zener diode, and the Semiconductor Diode and PN Junction Diode Apparatus uses two separate DC supplies with two meters.
What Is the Semiconductor Diode Trainer Used For?
The forward and reverse V-I characteristic of a p-n junction diode is one of the first semiconductor experiments in physics and electronics courses. Plotting a germanium and a silicon diode side by side shows the two materials’ different behaviour: the germanium diode starts conducting at a noticeably lower forward voltage, while the silicon diode passes far less reverse leakage current. From the forward curves students then calculate the static resistance at a chosen operating point and the dynamic resistance from the slope near that point.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Model — this Ge/Si trainer or one of the other diode trainers compared above.
- Number of trainers for the laboratory.
- Companion semiconductor trainers, such as the band gap and rectifier boards linked below, to be quoted on the same enquiry.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between static and dynamic resistance of a diode?
Static (DC) resistance is the forward voltage divided by the forward current at one point on the curve. Dynamic (AC) resistance is the small change in voltage divided by the matching change in current around that point — the reciprocal of the slope of the forward characteristic — and it falls sharply as the forward current rises.
Why are both germanium and silicon diodes provided?
So that the two semiconductor materials can be compared on one set of curves. Their cut-in voltages and reverse currents differ clearly, which helps students see how the material of a junction affects its characteristic.
Why does the supply have coarse and fine controls?
Near the knee of the forward characteristic the current changes rapidly for a small change of voltage. The fine control lets students set small voltage steps in that region, while the coarse control covers the rest of the range.
Does it cover the CBSE class 12 diode practical?
Yes. Drawing the I-V characteristic of a p-n junction diode in forward and reverse bias is a class 12 physics practical, and the trainer plots both characteristics for germanium and silicon diodes.
What information is needed for an export quotation?
The number of trainers, the destination country and port or city, delivery terms such as FOB or CIF, packing or labelling requirements, and any tender reference.
Who manufactures this semiconductor diode trainer?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, trading as JLab, makes it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a maker of physics, electronics and science laboratory equipment in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The diode trainer is built at JLab’s own works and not sourced from a trader, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers buy it factory-direct, every trainer is visually inspected before dispatch, and repeat orders and spares are handled by the manufacturer. The company is registered under CIN U29309HR2017PTC069123 and holds MSME Udyam registration UDYAM-HR-01-0003849 as a manufacturing enterprise. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Italy in Southern Europe, Norway in Northern Europe, the UAE in the Middle East, Ethiopia in East Africa and Lesotho in Southern Africa. Tender details are on the JLab lab tenders page.
