What Is the Mesophytes Chart Used For?
Most crop plants, garden plants and the trees of moist regions are mesophytes. Because their water supply is moderate and fairly steady, they show no extreme adaptations: a well-developed, branched root system, a firm upright stem, broad thin leaves with a moderate cuticle, stomata mostly on the lower leaf surface, and well-developed conducting and strengthening tissues. Familiar examples are mango, banyan, sunflower, pea and wheat. Mesophytes wilt quickly when water runs short, which is why they depend on regular rain or watering.
Teachers usually present the three habitat groups together — hydrophytes, mesophytes and xerophytes — so that students can see how the same organs, the root, stem and leaf, change from one habitat to another. A potted bean plant or a fresh mango leaf beside the chart gives a ready mesophyte specimen. The laminated chart wipes clean and rolls up on its rollers when the lesson is over.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are mesophytes?
Land plants adapted to habitats with a moderate, steady supply of water — neither waterlogged nor dry. Most crops and garden plants belong to this group.
How do mesophytes differ from hydrophytes and xerophytes?
Hydrophytes have air-filled tissues and reduced roots for life in water, and xerophytes have deep roots, thick cuticles and reduced leaves to save water; mesophytes sit in between, with broad leaves, a well-developed root system and no extreme features.
Where are the stomata on a mesophyte leaf?
Mostly on the lower surface, as in a typical dicot leaf; the upper surface usually has few.
What is the minimum order and dispatch time?
The minimum order is 10 units, sold individually. Charts usually leave within 7–10 working days after a visual inspection, and export transit time depends on the destination.
Who supplies the Mesophytes Chart?
JLab — Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, Ambala, Haryana, India — supplies it and quotes directly.
Supplier
JLab — formally Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd — was incorporated in 2017 and is run from Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. Its own educational laboratory equipment is complemented by teaching charts such as this one, so schools and their suppliers can order both together. Charts get a visual inspection before packing, and repeat orders are dealt with by the same team. JLab ships to every region, for example to New Zealand in Oceania, Burkina Faso in West Africa, Honduras in Central America and the Caribbean, the UK in Western Europe and Tunisia in North Africa. Tender details are on the JLab lab tenders page.
