Overflow Vessel (G.I.Sheet) Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : EL-MI-2148
Jlab Export is a leading Overflow Vessel (G.I.Sheet) Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Overflow Vessel (G.I.Sheet) (code EL-MI-2148) is an overflow vessel made of galvanised iron (G.I.) sheet with a hammer-tone finish and a flared top edge for added strength, used for density, specific gravity and Archimedes’ principle experiments in school and college physics labs. A polypropylene version is listed separately for labs that prefer plastic. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

How Does It Compare with Other JLab Overflow Cans?
| Model | Body | Other listed details |
|---|---|---|
| This vessel (EL-MI-2148) | Galvanised iron sheet, hammer-tone finish | Flared top edge for strength |
| Overflow Vessel (Plastic) | Polypropylene, white | Unbreakable, non-corrosive; spout to drain overflowing liquid |
| Eureka Can (Overflow Cans Plastic) | Polypropylene | Side spout channels overflow into a measuring cylinder |
| Overflow Can | Seamless aluminium | Spout attached; for use with a spring scale |
Choose the G.I. sheet vessel for a sturdy metal can with a reinforced rim; the polypropylene models do not rust, with the plastic overflow vessel listed as unbreakable, and the aluminium can is seamless.
What Is the Overflow Vessel Used For?
An overflow vessel, also called a eureka can, measures how much liquid a solid displaces. Fill it with water until it just stops overflowing, put a measuring cylinder or beaker under the outlet, then lower the solid in gently on a thread: the water that runs out has the same volume as the solid. This gives the volume of an irregular object for density and specific gravity work, and, with a spring balance, it shows Archimedes’ principle — the loss in weight of the immersed solid equals the weight of the water it displaces. It is used for the class 9 practical comparing the loss in weight of a solid in tap water and in strongly salty water, and in relative density experiments at higher levels. Rinse and dry the vessel after use, especially after salt solutions, so the galvanised surface lasts.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the overflow vessel made of?
Galvanised iron (G.I.) sheet with a hammer-tone finish. The top edge is flared to make the rim stronger.
Is there a plastic overflow vessel?
Yes. JLab lists a separate Overflow Vessel (Plastic) with a white polypropylene body that is unbreakable and non-corrosive, with a spout to drain overflowing liquid.
What size is it?
The listing does not give dimensions or capacity. Mention the size of the solids you test, and JLab will confirm the vessel size in the quotation.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a school physics and science lab equipment manufacturer in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The G.I. sheet overflow vessels are fabricated at JLab’s own works, not bought in from a trader, so schools, dealers and importers buy direct from the maker, and each vessel is visually checked before dispatch. The company is registered under CIN U29309HR2017PTC069123 and holds MSME Udyam registration UDYAM-HR-01-0003849 (manufacturing enterprise). JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Kyrgyzstan in Central Asia, Honduras in Central America and the Caribbean, Cameroon in Central Africa, Finland in Northern Europe and Taiwan in East Asia.
Archimedes’ Principle Equipment
- Bucket and Cylinder — demonstrates Archimedes’ principle with a hook-mounted cylinder.
- Spring Balance Tubular — dual-scale spring balance for weighing the solid in air and in water.
- Set for Archimedes Principle Experiment — cylinders and blocks of different materials for buoyancy work.
- Overflow Vessel (Plastic) — the polypropylene alternative.
