What Is the Reciprocating Pump Test Rig Used For?
A reciprocating pump is a positive-displacement pump: its piston or plunger draws in and pushes out a fixed volume on each stroke, so the discharge rises roughly in proportion to speed and changes little with the delivery head. The variable-speed drive lets that relationship be measured, and the readings give the pump’s water power and the overall efficiency of the set.
