Jlab Export is a leading Regulation of Gene Expression Model Manufacturer, and suppliers in India

Regulation of Gene Expression Model (code EL-BE-6096) is a molecular biology teaching model on how cells decide which genes to switch on, when and how strongly — the topic that class 12 biology teaches through the lac operon of E. coli. It is used in senior school, college genetics and biotechnology classes. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Regulation of Gene Expression Model Used For?

Every cell in a body carries the same DNA, yet a nerve cell and a liver cell use very different genes. Control can act at several stages: when the primary transcript is made, when it is spliced, when messenger RNA is moved from the nucleus to the cytoplasm, and when it is translated. In bacteria the main control point is the start of transcription.

The classic example is the lac operon described by Jacob and Monod. A regulatory gene makes a repressor protein that binds the operator and blocks RNA polymerase, so the structural genes for beta-galactosidase, permease and transacetylase stay silent. When lactose is present it acts as an inducer: it binds the repressor and inactivates it, and the genes needed to take up and break down lactose are transcribed. Because a repressor is involved, this is called negative regulation. In plants and animals, transcription factors, enhancers and the packing of chromatin add further layers. A model turns these switches into something students can point to.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the model show the lac operon?
The listing does not say. The lac operon is the standard class 12 example, so ask JLab to confirm the contents and send a photograph.

What is an inducer?
A molecule that switches a gene on by removing a block. In the lac operon, lactose binds the repressor so that it can no longer hold the operator, and transcription starts.

OEM Manufacturer

Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) manufactures this model in India. The company was incorporated in 2017, is based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana, and makes teaching models and laboratory equipment in its own works, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers buy from the maker rather than a trader and repeat supply comes from the same place. It is registered under CIN U29309HR2017PTC069123 and holds MSME Udyam registration UDYAM-HR-01-0003849 as a manufacturing enterprise. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Bulgaria in Eastern Europe, New Zealand in Oceania, Kazakhstan in Central Asia, the UK in Western Europe and North Macedonia in Southern Europe.
