What Is the Spare Lead Used For?
In a potentiometer or Wheatstone bridge experiment the jockey has to move freely along the wire while staying connected to the galvanometer circuit. This lead makes that connection: one brass clip goes to the jockey terminal and the other to the bridge or potentiometer terminal, and the 1.5 metre length lets the jockey reach the far end of the wire without pulling on the connection. A heavy wire keeps the lead’s own resistance low and stands up to daily handling in class 12 and college practicals. Check the clips for a firm grip before each session, and replace any lead whose wire or clips are damaged.

OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a maker of physics lab apparatus in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The lead is made at JLab’s own works rather than bought in, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers can buy spares directly from the manufacturer, each lead is visually inspected before packing, and repeat orders are handled by the same team. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — including Vanuatu in Oceania, Mongolia in East Asia, Libya in North Africa, Costa Rica in Central America and the Caribbean, and the UK in Western Europe.
