What Is the Confluence Model Used For?
Most confluences are places where a tributary joins a larger river, and below the junction the channel carries the combined flow of both. Where the two streams carry different loads of sediment, their waters can run side by side in different colours for some distance before they mix — the meeting of the Rio Negro and the Solimões near Manaus in Brazil is a famous example. In India the word prayag means confluence: at Devprayag the Bhagirathi and the Alaknanda meet to form the Ganga, and at Prayagraj the Ganga is joined by the Yamuna.
Teachers use the model when introducing drainage basins, tributaries and river systems in school geography, and alongside a map to trace where rivers meet. It is listed at the same dimensions as the Bay, Cape and Estuary models in this range.

JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a geography and science teaching-equipment manufacturer in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana.
