How Does It Compare with Other JLab Digital Storage Oscilloscopes?

ModelBandwidthChannelsSampling rateScreen
This oscilloscope (EL-DSO-1531)60 MHz2 channels500 MSa/s real-time5.7 inch
70 MHz Digital Storage Oscilloscope70 MHz2 channels2 GSa/s real-time7 inch
Digital Storage Oscilloscope Four Channel70 MHz4 independent channels2 GS/s7 inch

Choose this model when its bandwidth covers your signals and two channels are enough. The 70 MHz two-channel model samples faster and has the larger screen; the four-channel model suits work where more than two signals must be viewed at once.

What Is the Dual Channel Digital Storage Oscilloscope Used For?

A DSO turns each input into a stream of samples and stores them, so a trace can be held, measured and saved rather than only watched. With two channels, a common electronics lab exercise is to view a circuit’s input and output together and compare amplitude, phase and timing.

The added functions support analysis beyond a basic trace. The digital filter reduces unwanted noise on a waveform, the waveform recorder captures a sequence of traces for later replay, and pass/fail testing compares the signal with a set limit and reports whether it falls inside or outside it — useful when checking a batch of circuits. With the FFT view on a split screen, students can see a waveform and its frequency spectrum together.

What to Specify When Ordering

  • Model — this oscilloscope or one of the 70 MHz models in the comparison above.
  • Quantity — how many instruments, for example one for each lab bench.
  • Companion instruments — function generators, frequency counters and other electronic lab instruments are separate items that can go on the same enquiry.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the memory depth?
The memory depth is 4K. Together with the sampling rate, it sets how long a stretch of signal can be captured at full sampling speed in one acquisition.

Which trigger modes are available?
Edge, pulse, video, slope, alternative and delay triggering. Pulse and slope triggers help isolate a particular pulse width or edge rate, video triggering locks onto video signals, and the alternative mode lets each channel trigger on its own source so that two unrelated signals can both be shown stably.

Which interfaces does it have?
USB host and USB device ports on both the front and the back panel, and a GPIB interface — the bus traditionally used to link bench instruments in automated test set-ups.

What can it measure automatically?
It measures 32 waveform parameters automatically, and its cursors work in manual, track and auto modes for reading voltage and time differences directly on the trace.

Can the user interface be set to another language?
Yes. The user interface is multilingual, the online help is available in several languages, and settings are reached through pop-up menus.

What information is needed for an export quotation?
The quantity, the destination country and port or city, the delivery terms you prefer (for example FOB or CIF), any packing or labelling requirements and, for tenders, the tender reference.

Who manufactures this oscilloscope?
JLab — Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd — makes it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, and quotes for it directly.

OEM Manufacturer

JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of laboratory and electronics training equipment in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The oscilloscope is built in JLab’s own works instead of being bought in from a trader, so colleges, institutes, dealers and importers buy from the manufacturer and return to it for repeat orders and support. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Bangladesh in South Asia, Turkmenistan in Central Asia, Belgium in Western Europe, Congo in Central Africa and Bahrain in the Middle East. Tender information is published on the JLab lab tenders page.
