How Does It Compare with Other JLab Circuit-Theory Trainers?
| Model | Theorems or laws | DC supply | Meters |
|---|---|---|---|
| This trainer (EL-DSO-10331) | Superposition, Thevenin’s, Norton’s, maximum power transfer | Fixed 12 V and 5 V, regulated | Dual-range voltmeters (0–3/0–15 V) and ammeter (0–25/0–250 mA) |
| Verification of Network Theorems (four meters) | The same four theorems | Three fixed-output DC supplies | Four moving-coil meters |
| Verification of Superposition Theorem | Superposition | Two regulated supplies, 12 V and 5 V | Three moving-coil meters |
| Verification of Thevenins Theorem | Thevenin’s | One fixed 12 V supply | Two moving-coil meters |
| Verification of Maximum Power Transfer Theorem in DC Circuits | Maximum power transfer | One fixed 12 V supply | Two moving-coil meters |
| Verification of KCL and KVL Apparatus | Kirchhoff’s current and voltage laws | Variable 0–3 V, regulated | 0–3 V DC and 0–250 mA ranges |
Choose this trainer to cover all four theorems on one panel with dual-range meters. The single-theorem boards suit labs that run one experiment per bench, and the KCL and KVL apparatus is the one for Kirchhoff’s laws.
What Is the Network Theorems Trainer Used For?
Network theorems reduce a linear circuit to a form that can be solved by hand. Superposition says that the current in any branch is the algebraic sum of the currents each source would drive on its own; Thevenin’s theorem replaces a two-terminal network by one voltage source in series with one resistance, and Norton’s theorem by one current source in parallel with a resistance; and the maximum power transfer theorem shows that a load takes the most power when its resistance equals the Thevenin resistance of the source. Students measure currents and voltages on the panel meters and compare them with the values each theorem predicts, as part of basic electrical engineering and circuit-theory practicals in engineering colleges and polytechnics.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Model — this four-theorem trainer or one of the single-theorem boards compared above.
- Quantity — the number of trainers for your lab.
- Kirchhoff’s laws — the KCL and KVL apparatus is a separate item that can go on the same quotation.
Frequently Asked Questions
What supplies and meters are built in?
Two fixed DC regulated supplies of 12 V and 5 V, dual-range voltmeters reading 0–3 V and 0–15 V, and a dual-range ammeter reading 0–25 mA and 0–250 mA. The meters are analog moving-coil types measuring 60 x 35 mm.
How does it differ from the Verification of Network Theorems trainer?
Both cover the same four theorems. That trainer has three fixed-output DC supplies and four moving-coil meters; this one has two fixed supplies with dual-range voltmeters and ammeter.
What accessories are supplied?
A power cord, patch cords and an instruction manual.
How large is it and what mains supply does it need?
The cabinet is 430 x 230 x 90 mm and weighs about 2.5 kg, and it runs on 230 V AC ±10% at 50 Hz.
What information is needed for an export quotation?
Please give the quantity, the destination country and port or city, the delivery terms you want (for example FOB or CIF), any packing or labelling requirements, and a tender reference if there is one.
Who manufactures the Network Theorems trainer?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, trading as JLab, makes it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, and quotes for it directly.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an electrical and electronics lab equipment manufacturer in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. JLab builds this trainer at its own works rather than buying it from a trader, so engineering colleges, polytechnics, dealers and importers deal with the manufacturer from first enquiry to repeat order. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Lesotho in Southern Africa, Yemen in the Middle East, Taiwan in East Asia, Estonia in Northern Europe and Bhutan in South Asia. Tender information is on the JLab lab tenders page.
