Kjeldahl Flasks JLab (code EL-F-1615) are digestion flasks for Kjeldahl nitrogen determination, made as the FK series in 100, 300, 500 and 800 ml, each with a B24 socket. Digestion and Distillation in the Flask
In the Kjeldahl method the sample is digested in the flask with concentrated sulphuric acid and a catalyst, which converts organic nitrogen to ammonium sulphate. The digest is then made alkaline and the ammonia is distilled into an acid receiver for titration. The B24 socket on the FK flasks lets a splash head or distillation head be fitted straight on.
FK Series or FMC22 Round Bottom
The FK flasks share one B24 socket from 100 ml to 800 ml, so a single set of heads serves every size. The FMC22 round bottom flasks hold 50 ml or 100 ml and carry a B19 cone, for smaller samples.
