What Is the Head Louse Model Used For?
The head louse is a small, wingless insect with a flattened body and legs that end in claws shaped to grip hair. It lives only on the human scalp and feeds on blood. The female glues her eggs, the nits, to hair shafts close to the scalp; nymphs hatch, moult as they grow and become adults without leaving the head. Lice spread mainly through direct head-to-head contact and less often through shared combs, hats or pillows.
Because infestations are common among schoolchildren, the model is a practical aid for school health checks and parent talks, where it helps correct the myth that lice are a sign of poor hygiene. In zoology and nursing courses it serves as a classic example of an insect ectoparasite and can be compared with the body louse and the crab louse.

OEM Manufacturer
Under the JLab name, Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd manufactures biology models and school laboratory equipment in India; the company was incorporated in 2017 and is based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. This head louse model is made in JLab’s own works, not bought from a trading house, so schools, colleges, dealers and importers buy directly, and each unit passes a visual check before dispatch.
