Jlab Export is a leading Life Cycle of Guinea Worm Model Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Life Cycle of Guinea Worm Model (code EL-BE-5203) is a teaching model of the life cycle of the guinea worm, Dracunculus medinensis, the parasitic roundworm that causes dracunculiasis (guinea worm disease). It is used in zoology, parasitology and community-health lessons on how a water-borne parasite passes between people and tiny freshwater crustaceans. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Guinea Worm Life Cycle Model Used For?
The guinea worm needs two hosts. People are infected by drinking unfiltered water containing copepods — tiny crustaceans of the genus Cyclops, often called water fleas — that carry the worm’s larvae. Freed in the stomach, the larvae pass through the gut wall and mature in the body tissues. About a year later the fertilised female, by then long and thread-like, reaches the skin, usually of the leg or foot, and forms a painful blister. When the blister touches water the worm releases larvae, copepods swallow them, and the cycle begins again.
Since every step runs through drinking water, the model helps explain why filtering water and keeping people with an emerging worm out of ponds and wells stop transmission — the basis of the worldwide eradication campaign. It suits zoology and parasitology courses and the roundworm (Aschelminthes) topic of class 11 biology.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the intermediate host of the guinea worm?
A copepod, a tiny freshwater crustacean of the genus Cyclops. People swallow infected copepods in unfiltered drinking water; the worm does not spread directly from person to person.
Is this the same subject as the Life Cycle of Dracunculus Medinensis Model?
Yes — Dracunculus medinensis is the guinea worm’s scientific name. JLab lists the two models separately and their listings describe no difference, so ask JLab which one to quote.
Who manufactures this model?
JLab — Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd — makes it at its own works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an Indian maker of biology teaching models and laboratory equipment, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. It produces this model in its own works, not through a trader, so universities, schools, dealers and importers order direct and every unit is checked by eye before packing. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Italy in Southern Europe, Trinidad and Tobago in Central America and the Caribbean, Slovakia in Eastern Europe, Mongolia in East Asia and Guinea in West Africa. Tender buyers can see the JLab lab tenders page.
