Product Code : EL-SOM-1155
Jlab Export is a leading Monostable and Free Running Multivibrators using Transistors Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Monostable and Free Running Multivibrators using Transistors (code EL-SOM-1155) is an electronics trainer for the two transistor multivibrator circuits named in its title: the monostable (one-shot) and the free-running (astable) multivibrator. As the listing explains, a multivibrator is a non-linear oscillator that can generate square, rectangular and pulse waves. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

How Does It Compare with Other JLab Multivibrator Trainers?
| Trainer | Details given in its listing |
|---|---|
| This trainer (EL-SOM-1155) | Transistor monostable and free-running circuits; square, rectangular and pulse waves |
| Monostable and Free Running Multivibrators using IC 555 | Timer-IC version; monostable wave-shape study with an external trigger input and a printed front-panel circuit |
| Astable Multivibrator using Transistors | Free-running circuit only; cross-coupled transistors giving a continuous square wave |
| Astable, Monostable and Bistable Multivibrator using Transistor | Adds the bistable circuit to the two covered here |
What Is This Transistor Multivibrator Trainer Used For?
Both circuits use two transistors that switch each other on and off. In the free-running version both cross-couplings are through capacitors, so neither state is stable and the circuit keeps flipping, giving a continuous square or rectangular wave without any trigger. In the monostable version one coupling is resistive, so the circuit rests in one state; a trigger pulse flips it over for a time set by a single resistor–capacitor pair, after which it returns on its own and delivers one clean pulse. Side by side, the two circuits show how one change in coupling turns an oscillator into a pulse timer, a standard practical in B.Sc. electronics, diploma and ITI/TVET courses.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Quantity — at least 10 trainers.
- A request for the power supply, component values and panel layout, which the listing does not give.
- The IC 555 version or the three-mode transistor trainer, if you want to compare circuits in one practical.
Frequently Asked Questions
What waveforms can the multivibrators generate?
Square, rectangular and pulse waves, according to the listing: continuous waves from the free-running circuit and single pulses from the monostable.
What is the difference between the monostable and free-running circuits?
The free-running circuit has no stable state and oscillates by itself; the monostable has one stable state and produces one pulse of set length each time it is triggered.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, a teaching-lab electronics manufacturer in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The trainer is made at JLab’s own works, so colleges, dealers and importers buy direct from the manufacturer and come back to it for repeat orders and spares. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example Denmark in Northern Europe, Fiji in Oceania, Armenia in Eastern Europe, Malawi in East Africa and Trinidad and Tobago in Central America and the Caribbean. Tender information is on the JLab lab tenders page.
