Using the Angled Side Neck
Because the side neck is angled away from the centre, fittings in the two necks do not crowd each other. A typical set-up has a condenser on the centre socket and a thermometer adapter or stopper in the side, both on B14 joints. The pear-shaped base keeps a small reaction volume together at the bottom for stirring and heating.
