What Is the RTD Trainer Kit Used For?
The kit is for studying temperature measurement with a resistance sensor. The water heater provides a rising temperature and the thermometer an independent reading of it, so the electronic reading can be compared with the thermometer as the water warms.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does a PT-100 RTD sense temperature?
The resistance of platinum rises steadily as it warms, and a PT-100 element has a resistance of 100 ohms at the ice point. Passing a small current through the sensor turns that resistance change into a voltage, which is small enough that it is normally amplified before it is shown on a meter.
Should I choose this kit or the Thermocouple Trainer Kit?
The two kits share the same temperature range and the same set of meter, amplifier, thermometer and heater; only the sensor differs. Choose this kit to teach resistance sensors, which are generally more stable and closer to linear over moderate temperatures, or the Thermocouple Trainer Kit to teach a self-generating K-type thermocouple, the type of sensor used for much higher temperatures in industry.
Who makes the RTD Trainer Kit?
It is made by JLab (Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd) at its works in Ambala, Haryana, India.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana, where it makes electronics trainers and other engineering lab equipment in India. The RTD kit leaves JLab’s own works directly, without a trading middleman, for institutions, dealers and importers. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region, for example Botswana in Southern Africa, Mexico in North America, Slovakia in Eastern Europe, Morocco in North Africa and Chad in Central Africa.
