Product Code : EL-DSO-10316
Jlab Export is a leading Earth Fault Relay Testing Kit Manufacturer, and suppliers in India
Earth Fault Relay Testing Kit (code EL-DSO-10316) is a bench test kit built around an IDMT earth fault relay of the electromechanical induction disc type, used to study how the relay is constructed and to obtain its time–current characteristics. A digital AC current meter, a digital timer and a screen-printed relay circuit diagram sit on the front panel. It is made by Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd (JLab) at its works in Ambala, India.

What Is the Earth Fault Relay Testing Kit Used For?
An earth fault relay watches for current that escapes from a circuit to earth and trips the breaker when it persists. In an induction disc relay the current in the relay coil sets up eddy currents that turn a disc against a control spring; the larger the current, the faster the disc travels and closes the trip contacts. Plotting the operating time against the fault current gives the inverse curve that protection engineers use when grading relays, which is the characteristic this kit is designed to obtain.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does IDMT mean?
Inverse definite minimum time. The relay operates more quickly as the fault current rises, but never faster than a fixed minimum time, which lets relays further from the fault wait for the one nearest to it to trip first.
What is the current injector for?
It is a variable 20 A source built into the kit that drives a phantom fault current through the relay, so the relay can be made to operate on the bench without a real earth fault in a live circuit.
How is an earth fault relay different from an over current relay?
An over current relay responds to the current in the phase conductors and must be set above normal load current. An earth fault relay responds only to the current that flows to earth, which is near zero in a healthy circuit, so it can be set to pick up much smaller faults.
How does it differ from the Directional Over Current Relay Testing Kit?
The relay is the difference: this kit uses an IDMT earth fault relay, while the other kit is built around a directional over current relay of the induction disc type and has a reversing switch to reverse the direction of current.
What information is needed for an export quotation?
Send the number of kits, the destination country and port or city, your preferred delivery terms (for example FOB or CIF), any packing or labelling requirements, and the tender reference if one applies.
Who manufactures this kit?
Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, trading as JLab, makes it at its works in Ambala, Haryana, and quotes for it directly.
OEM Manufacturer
JLab is the trading name of Jain Laboratory Instruments Pvt Ltd, an electrical and electronics lab equipment manufacturer in India, incorporated in 2017 and based on Hargolal Road, Ambala, Haryana. The relay testing kit is made at JLab’s own works rather than bought in from a trader, so colleges, dealers and importers order it from the maker, and repeat orders come from the same source. The company is registered under GSTIN 06AADCJ9848D1ZE and holds Legal Entity Identifier 549300DTGS77DGYD6N03. JLab exports worldwide and ships to buyers in every region — for example the USA in North America, Cambodia in Southeast Asia, Denmark in Northern Europe, Brazil in South America and Kazakhstan in Central Asia. Tender buyers can find more on the JLab lab tenders page.
